Norwegian gas is in demand in the UK. Britain ranks as Europe’s largest gas market, and is also set to become more dependent on imports. That combination makes the UK a very attractive outlet for Norwegian gas. Vesterled pipeline (from Heimdal in the Norwegian sector to the NSMP terminal) to offset the decline in blending sources within the FUKA pipeline and ensure the CO 2 content in the export gas from the sub-terminal into the NTS remained below 4.0mol%.

The consent for the Vesterled pipeline took effect from 09/05/01. Background TotalFinaElf (TFE) have requested consent to install a new 32” pipeline that will connect the Heimdal Riser Platform in St. Fergus. Gas. Terminal. The St Fergus Gas Terminal is one site which services two pipelines, namely; Vesterled (Norwegian Gas in the Phase 2 Facilities) FUKA (North Sea Gas in the Phase 3 Facilities) The FUKA Pipeline is 100% owned by NSMP (Operations) Limited. The Vesterled Pipeline is owned by the Gassled Partners.
